Animal Facts from National Geographic

Animal Facts from National Geographic is a site I learned about from David Andrade's blog, Educational Technology Guy, who is a great resource for all educators.

National Geographic is a fabulous resource for any classroom and it hosts a great site filled with animal facts. Animal Facts is basically a collection of facts and information on just about every animal imaginable. Animal Facts is arranged by animal type (ex: birds, fish, amphibians, and mammals). Animals are conveniently listed in alphabetical order with a quick find option on the page as well.

Each animal fact page is accompanied by not only facts about the animal, but also a picture of the animal and a map that indicates where the animal is found. Animal Facts also allows users to share via Facebook, Twitter, Buzz, Stumble upon, Digg, and email which allow students to share with teachers or their peers; or teachers can share with students.

Animal Facts is a fabulous tool for the classroom. Hope that you find it useful as well.

It's a great resource for teachers and students.
